Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Our own selection of M. dawsoniana We got our plant from the Clarke Nursery in San Jose, California in the late 50's. This is by far the best of the M. dawsoniana cultivars as it has thousands of lovely, pink 6” flowers that look somewhat like orchids.
Large (8-10"), fragrant, white-streaked-rose-pink flowers in early spring make this large, spreading shrub (or 40' tree) the finest M. dawsoniana selection, along with showy fall fruit; heat and pollution tolerant. S/M
Deep pink flowers on tall tree (40') which is not particular about growing conditions but flowers best in full sun. zone 5
