One of the most beautiful of banana plants and many red-skinned cultivars. A strong, vigorous plant which produces a medium-sized bunch of bananas that are a brilliant red and gold upon ripening. Fruit is very aromatic with creamy orange pulp. Most red bananas are much esteemed for good tasting fruit, and this one is no exception. This cultivar also has red pseudostems. A favorite small banana. Great disease resistance Zones 8 and up great wind resistant.
A dessert quality hardy red banana, more hightly prized than yellow skinned varieties, with a compact growth habit and red trunks, or pseudostems. This is a compact yet vigorous growing and wind tolerant variety. The rich fruit should be almost black before they are ready to eat.
Red peeling and tasty. Only grows from 6-8' high with a red peeling that is almost black when ripe. It needs longer to ripen then most bananas, but the extra time is worth the excellent tasting fruit. Has red stems that sometimes revert to green.
