Origin from Brazil, Drunkard's Dream is a related cactus without the thorns. Its stems, with bottle shaped joints, branch out in all directions as if it was drunk. Mature plants produce orange-yellowish flowers at the tips between March and May. Multi branched succulent plants, spreading growth habit to 2-3' tolerates direct sun. Prefers partial shade. Tolerates dry conditions. Yellow flowers periodically.
A softly spilling green waterfall comes to mind when you see the deep dark green cylindrical foliage as it cascades from a hanging basket or mixed container. In summer small golden-yellow strawflower-like blooms are borne along the stem tips and is followed by the translucent berries which give this dainty Mistletoe Cactus its name. Great for hanging baskets and pots. Like all succulents and cacti, this plant requires a fast draining soil and infrequent watering.
The common name is 'Drunkard's Dream' as the leaves on this spinless cactus look like little bottles. Grows best in light shade to 18". Protect from frost.
