Kalanchoe thrysiflora has fleshy paddle like silvery grey leaves forming rosettes like stacked clam shells. The leaves appear to be covered with a thick flour-like coating of dusty powder. In winter to spring 2-3 foot stems grow quickly with clusters of sweetly fragrant dark yellow tubular flowers. Likes sun and neglect.
Sculptured Kalanchoe has powder-dusted blue gray foliage delicately rimmed in shades of red. It grow slowly but densely on a thick stalk to 10-12" in one season, although it can get quite large with age.
Is this a gorgeous succulent or what??? A member of the Crassula family, it forms lovely, densely held, large, rounded blue-grey leaves, fabulously rimmed in shades of red. The red edges vary in width depending on conditions. The plant elongates upwards to flower in Summer with a silver 12” stalk topped with yellow flowers. During flowering new growth will form at the base – so you can increase your collection. Most excellent in a mixed succulent container garden or all by itself! Rare, easy & can be grown as a houseplant too! Protect from frost!

Also known as the "pancake plant" because the thick succulent leaves are arranged in one plane. Very attractive when 4 or more are planted in a row either in a long narrow pot or in the garden. Full sun turns the leaves red.
