I feel a deep sense of disgust at the mention of ‘Arborvitae’ as they are overused as hedges and trimmed into ugliness in the PNW…but I have to say, this one has some class! Dense, twisted fans of deep green foliage form a slow growing, narrow column that reaches 7’ in height and a mere 2’ wide over 10 years. For a no-prune hedge or perfect for a tight corner or small spot in the garden where a vertical form is needed…or as a potted specimen. Sun, average soil, water.
A slow-growing narrow Western Arborvitae with twisted fans of lush-green foliage. A perfect vertical shrub for a tight spot in the garden. Selected by Anders Brobeck of Sweden.
