Tanzaninan aloe whose leaves, like a chameleon, turn from bright green to vibrant orange in warm, sunny conditions. Rosettes stay low, but clumps can grow to an impressive 2' across. This is one of the most attractive aloes in a container or rock garden and sends up flower spikes in late winter. Protect from frost, especially if temperatures last for more than a few hours. Water very occasionally, if at all. Zone 9b.
Aloe dorotheae, also called the Sunset Aloe, brings bold form and color to a succulent garden. Features glossy green, triangular leaves with white spots and toothed edges. The leaves turn a gorgeous, glossy reddish orange to salmon color in full sun. Displays salmon orange flower spikes on tall stalks. Ideal in landscapes and containers or can adapt as a houseplant. Provide a well-drained soil away from reflected heat. Once established, water infrequently during the hot season. Protect your PRINCE OF PARADISE™ plant from frost!
Native to east Africa, this aloe only grows to about 8" wide and turns a translucent orange when grown in full sun. It makes an excelent container plant. Pair with purple or blue folliage for stunning color.
