Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Even if there weren't dense spikes of the coolest shade of lavender flowers in mid Summer, you'd want to grow this plant for its palmate, whorling foliage. It's somewhat similar to Veronicastrum virginicum, described above, but has much more texture and makes a bolder overall appearance.
An excellent plant for the back of the late summer border, this North American native loves sun, moist soil and to not be crowded by other perennials. The white flowers on long wands arch gracefully.
Studded with lavender blue blooms, the lengthy flower spikes make an elegant presentation. Arranged in groups, they stand proudly on upright, sturdy stems, which sport spaced whorls of neat, broadly lanceolate leaves. This noble Asian native offers an admirable contrast to mounding forms, such as Amsonia hubrichtii.
The Russian counterpart of var virginicum, it is essentially identical except for the flower color, which is bluish purple in sibericum see the excellent photo in V.1 of Rix Perennials.
We've offered this before, have sold out and just now have enough stock to offer again. Siberian Culver's Root is an elegant mid summer blooming plant offering spires of lavender blue flowers on 3-4' stems.
