Large colorful hybrid with red-edged rosettes to 2ft. This plant was originally introduced in the Huntington Garden’s 1993 International Succulent Introductions (ISI 93) catalog as Aeonium decorum “Sunburst” but is now thought to be a variegated form of A. davidbramwellii.
Handsome, shrub-forming, sedum relative from the Canary Islands, beautifully variegated rosettes of evergreen leaves -- green and yellow edged in coppery red -- on stems rising to 1-2' tall. White flowers appear summer. Best in sun where soil is well-drained. Very drought tolerant so careful watering for potted plants. Superb container plant to bring inside to a bright spot if temperatures dip into the mid 20 °F, mid USDA zone 9.
This Aeonium grows to 14" wide or more and takes full sun or partial shade. Very dramatic colors of yellow, pink and green for the tropical looking garden or for containers. It is not as hardy as Aeonium 'Zwarzkop', but can take very light frost. It is great in mixed containers.
