Large (1-2") lilac-budded lavender-pink flowers give this fine French selection a different & pretty color effect; 2-3' tall, it blooms over a very long Aug to Oct period. S/M
Aster pyrenaeus 'Lutetia' is a 1912 French selection with a profusion of soft lavender, narrow-petaled flowers opening from pink buds on purple stems mounds to two feet tall and three feet wide. It is long-blooming from August through October and great at the front of the border.
'Lutetia' is one of our favorite low growing Asters, and by summer's end you'll see why. Its pink buds open into a charming blanket of large, yellow-centered, pastel daisies with delicately splayed lavender petals, completely hiding the loose mound of finely textured foliage and intertwined, wiry, deep purple stems.
