Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Dramatic, evergreen fountains of burnished yellow gold, grassy foliage that look great all year long. At a mere 12-18" high and wide, this accent will fit almost anywhere, including spilling from a pot or window box. Mass it for a golden ground cover, edge a pathway, accent a woodland…enjoys part shade (morning sun is perfect), average garden soil and regular moisture. Deer don't munch ours.

Everillo' is a fantastic recent intro with evergreen blades emerging lime green, then turning golden yellow. Use in the border or in containers for dramatic textural and colour contrast. Bred by Fitzgerald Nurseries who works with mutations of Carex 'Evergold'. Useful in the border, near a water feature, in mass plantings, and in containers! Though recommended for average to moist sites this species is tolerant of dry shade.
