As its name suggests, this upright cultivar of English Yew has a silver-colored variegation on the margins of the leaves. This bright variegation is accentuated in the winter months. Its upright form and color combination make it a nice landscape plant.
Though this cultivar has been around for close to 20 years, it is still difficult to find. Green with gold margins in spring and summer, it really "shines" in winter when the gold turns to silver.
Taxus baccata 'Silver Spire' - A dwarf evergreen Silver Sparkling English Yew with a compact, narrow form. Tiny green leaves are variegated with a silver cast, giving this conifer a sparkling appearance. Prefers rich organic well-drained soil.
