This goat has only a 10" beard! Decorative lobed leaves, mini white spikes of flowers June > July. Grows to about a foot wide and 10" tall. A woodland plant for sun to part shade, moist to wet soil. A nice accent, filler or foreground planting…bog or pondside too! Fluffy, not stuffy.
This neat and tidy miniature hosta comes from Japan. It forms a dense mound of tiny variegated foliage, mature leaves measure just 2.75" long by 1.75" wide. Despite its little size it does grab your attention.

Topped by creamy white plumes of minute starlike flowers, fine ultra-chiseled foliage and red-tinged stems craft a tidy dwarf habit that works well as a ground cover around flat stones and rocks. This small charmer can also be tucked into the front of the border with broad-leafed Epimediums nearby.
Native to Japan and Korea, A. aethusifolius is very similar to A. parvulus with wonderful, 1' mounds of finely dissected leaves, topped by short plumes of white flowers. It tolerates everything from pondsides to dry shade and becomes a remarkably tight bun if grown in full sun. ZONE 4

Hardy Korean goat's beard, a small perennial, to only 10-16" tall and wide, with ferny, cut foliage that turn red in autumn, and summer flowers in white plumes very like astilbes. These tolerate full sun to full shade and in between, with rich, humousy soil and plentiful summer water. A die-back perennial that returns in spring. Frost hardy to -40 °F, USDA zone 3!
Dwarf Goat's Beard. One of the top perennials of all time. Tightly packed ferny foliage and short dense plumes of white flowers in early to mid summer. Hardy as all get out and completely trouble free. If you screw this up then we beg you - please give up gardening. Just not very dry, that's all.
