Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Joel Spingarn' Dwarf, strict upright variety of Japanese Hinoki Cypress. Leaves dark green and more upright then `Bess'. Plant grows about 4-6" a year. Very tight good color. Very nice for trough, or rock garden. Found in literature around 1991.
Tightly, congested, dark green foliage forming a plant reaching 4 feet high x 2 feet wide in 10 years. Similar to, but more upright than 'Bess'. A seedling selection made in 1966.
