Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This striking small (10-20') tree has showy ferny red leaves and stems in spring and retains the bright red stems throughout the season; this variety doesn?t bloom so no chance for seedling invasiveness. S/M-D/GDr PP17409
The leaves are finely fretted and coloured salmon-pink at first, changing to orange and almost yellow before they turn soft green in summer. Vivid red petioles add to the show all summer until autumn. Then the leaves take on all the fiery hues of a fantastic autumn show. In winter the newer twigs are bright golden; it would be a great coppiced tree.
This tree delivers a new color combination to a tried and true urban tree. Hot coral-pink leaflets emerge in spring, a perfect match for the bright stems of the pinnately compound leaves. Foliage matures to medium green, creating an eye-catching color contrast with the coral-colored stems. The color fest continues through autumn, when leaves turn to coral red, orange and bright yellow. Based on a decade of observation by the introducer, it does not appear to produce summer flowers or seed capsules.
