This spectacular dwarf weeping redbud is absolutely perfect for smaller landscapes! Combining pretty violet flowers in spring on bare stems followed by glossy heart-shaped maroon-red foliage on lovely gracefully weeping branches to form a 8't x 5'w disease-resistant beauty. Autumn yellow color is lovely too; a spectacular tree developed by North Carolina State University. S-PSh/M/GDr PP22097
Ruby Falls Weeping Redbud is noted for its vibrant purple-pink blooms before the foliage comes out. This is a stunning, weeping dwarf redbud with beautiful heart-shaped, plum-purple color leaves. The best leaf color is in full sun in spring and early summer. Leaves may green slightly in summer and lower light conditions. Fall color is gold/bronze. The graceful weeping habit provides an excellent winter silhouette. If you want the Ruby Falls Weeping Redbud tree to grow taller before it weeps, you can stake up the leader when the tree is young. This only works on the fresh, new growth, however, as the wood becomes brittle once it "hardens off". PP22097
This gently weeping form of redbud has beautiful vibrant purple flowers in spring with ruby red and burgundy leaves appearing later in spring!
Result of a 'Forest Pansy' x 'Covey' cross, this Eastern redbud is a hardy, compact genetic "combo" of purple foliage in a redbud weeper. If you don't mind staking it until it gets to 8 ft. or more, it will reward your efforts with small stature and clearly unique character. It will make your clients proud.
