Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Creamy-white flowers COVER this 25' x 25' tree in spring... followed by showy strawberry-like fruits and yellow-purple-orange fall color!; good disease resistance, drought tolerance and hardiness... a SUPER tree! S-PSh/M/GDr
A recent release from Dr. Orton's famed hybrid dogwood breeding program at Rutgers University. Smaller blooms than Venus?, but this selection bears attractive strawberry like fruit. Fall foliage is multi-colored, with shades of yellow, purple, and orange. Robust in growth, but tolerates sometimes dry soil. Resistant to powdery mildew and anthracnose: in fact, during a generation that has seen the decimation of native dogwoods in American forests, no insect or disease problems have been observed. The original tree of Hyperion? is over 20 ft. tall and 20 ft. wide at 20 years of age.
