A rare asarum cousin from China with fuzzy, heart-shaped leaves, to 5"! To only 2' tall x 3' wide. Perfect for the shade garden especially when the lovely, butter-yellow flowers appear in spring and throughout most of the summer. A die-back perennial, they need part to full shade, well-drained soil, and regular moisture in summer. Frost hardy to -20 °F, USDA zone 5. Stump the neighbors!
A hard to find shade loving perennial with large rounded heart shaped leaves and small yellow flowers all summer. Resembles a large native Asarum in leaf. Easy, long lived and vigorous.
This choice Chinese perennial is related to our native Ginger or Asarum and Saruma being an anagram of Asarum is what passes for humor in botanical nomenclature. Felty heart shaped foliage bronze when young and half inch yellow flowers right away and through the summer. Easy.
Heart-shaped leaves with silver hairs emerge in early spring followed by pale yellow flowers. Grows to 16" tall & tolerates dry shade.
