Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Primarily from China?s bamboo groves and looking almost like a climbing bamboo itself, this handsome and fast-growing 20' climber/sprawler has elegant 3-parted foliage, as well as thorns, small pink flowers and small black fruits. S/M
Lovely, and not-so-aggressive vine from China. To 10 feet or so with delicate stems and three-lobed, indeed bamboo-like leaves that are a shiny deep-green above and pale-white beneath. Shade to mostly sunny, with some additional water in places where summers are dry. Evergreen to the bottom of USDA zone 7. A very tropical looking accent for the garden.
Hinkley calls it extremely hardy and rates it a zone 4 while Krussman considers it zone 7, and that is precisely why we dislike zone maps. A scandent species from the bamboo forests of Hueph Province; flowers are pink and berries are black and typical but other than that its very unrubus-like. Looking more like the bamboo it grows with (Lamarckian evolution? its more plausible than the creationists, but I'll stick with Darwin).
