Potentilla megalantha is a broadleaf evergreen perennial with green foliage. In spring and summer yellow flowers emerge. Features fuzzy texture. Grows well with sun and occasional - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Does well in average, gritty and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something verticillium wilt resistant.
Another great, tough, potentilla, a mound a foot or so tall of appealingly fuzzy foliage (one of those plants everyone will be petting... it is too soft not to) topped with screaming yellow flowers in early summer. Some potentilla are a bit stingy when it comes to flower display, but this one actually flowers heavily enough to be very pleasing indeed. Reported as zone 2 hardy. Yeah, zone 2 people. This thing is tough. - Joseph
