With the same lovely tube shaped flowers on graceful spikes as the species but with eye-catching variegated foliage. Cutting back in June makes for stronger spikes. The variegated foliage adds interested in spring and early summer.

Obedient plant with leaves each outlined with a thick, white margin. Very showy indeed, even before the late summer spikes of pink flowers. Reaches three feet tall. Less aggressive of a spreader than the regular green versions of this species, but still somewhat inclined to be a bully, so give it a some space. Happiest in a wet spot, but not picky. Zone 4
