It is more than mere rarity that makes it so desirable. Mlokosewitschii is found only in the Lagodechi valley in the S.E. Caucasus growing on slopes in openings of the Hornbeam-Oak forest, Paeonia mlokosewitschii is coveted for the 12cm flowers which are a translucent light yellow like strayed water lilies of delicate saffron or citron, exquisite against the glaucous foliage.
