Nursery contributed plant descriptions

An herbaceous peony up to two feet in height. Purple-rose flowers in late spring. An easy, dependable, long-lived and very hardy species. Best in full sun but tolerant of light shade. The parent plants were grown from seed sent to us from the wilds of Irkutsk in the far east of Russia where it was found growing near the immensity of Lake Baikal.
A thread leafed species from central Asia, it is not as finely cut as tenuiifolia, these are from German garden stocks and are more likely hybrids to anomola and not particularly thread leafed but still a welcome garden addition, flowers are brilliant crimson and about 9cm across. ZONE 4
