Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Ornithogalum arabicum is a star-of-Bethlehem often referred to as Arabian starflower that grows widespread in southern Europe and northern Africa. It forms two foot stems topped with clusters of white, star-like flowers with glistening, jet black central ovaries. It has a beautiful fragrance. Great as a cut flower. Estimates of hardiness range from zones 7, 8 and 9. Grow in good drainage or in pots that can be protected for severe freezing.
Tall, straight stems hold the flowers above the foliage and nearby perennials. These same stems, combined with an incredibly long vase life and sweet fragrance, moves Arabicum to the front of the line for florists. Here's your chance to grow your own.
