Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Lewisia cotyledon Ashwood MixOne of the ultimate rock garden or trough plants. This is a seed strain from the famous Ashwood nursery in the UK. Every one is different and all are gorgeous. The foliage on these is beautiful ? and quite variable -- succulent rosettes generally an inch or so across, leaves ranging from broad to narrow, some with really cool wavey margins, and often flushed with red. Flowers come on 4-6 inch stems, in saturated colors ranging from pink to yellow to orange.Almost nothing in the rock garden can match them for sheer brilliance and intensity of color. They like good drainage, and tend to be a bit short lived, but aren't too horribly fussy. Zone 5, at least
