Iris forrestii is a broadleaf evergreen or semi-evergreen perennial bulb / corm / tuber with green foliage. In spring and summer yellow flowers emerge. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and even moisture water. Does well in gritty and rich soil. A good option if you're seeking something verticillium wilt resistant.
Native of southwest China occurring at up to 4,000m it is in the Siberian-chrysographes section. One of only two yellow flowered species in the group (wilsonii is the other) easy in full sun and moist soils and looks good near ponds has been hybridized with California Iris to create Calisbes. ZONE 5
