Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The common name of Halberdleaf is very descriptive of the shape of the leaves if, for some strange reason, you have a working knowledge of mediveal weaponry. If not, well, too bad. A big herbacious hibiscus, plants can reach 6 feet and the flowers up to 6 inches across. Blooms are white or pale pink with a dark pink red eye, blooming from mid-summer to fall. Vigorous, easy plants, they thrive in wet areas, but are not particularly picky provided they get plenty of sun. I like the species hibiscus much better than some of the newer hybrids. So much of the new breeding has aimed at bigger flowers on smaller plants that end up looking unbanaced and odd. This one is tall enough to pull off the massive blooms with grace. Zone 5
