Called a strawflower or everlasting because the bright yellow daisy flower have a dry, straw-like texture that will last pretty much forever as a dried cut flower. Flowers don't last quite as long on the plant, but still stay looking good for a couple months in early summer. In this form, even once the flowers fade or are cut, the foliage is wonderfully silver hairy forming a compact mount only a couple inches tall in the rock garden. Flowers are only 3-4 inches higher than the foliage, so the whole thing is a nicely compact and perfect for troughs and rock gardens. Not a lot of information about this in cultivation. We're testing hardiness, and are hoping it will prove hardy here with good drainage. Almost certainly hardy in zone 6 or 7.
