Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Gymnocoronis spilanthoides is native to South America, it can grow either in water or in moist soils. We have selected a clone that is fantastically attractive to Monarch butterflies. During peak migration, it calls to then by the hundreds. It is apparently a true pheromone secretory. It holds little attraction for other butterfly species. Hardiness is uncertain but it survives some freezing and is well worth hauling into a sunroom or garage for the winter. ZONE 7
