Neat little rounded cacti with very attractive, not very pokey, spines and very large brilliant flowers. Hardy to zone 5 in dry western US climes where it is native. Doubtfully hardy here, but perhaps in a rock garden or trough with absolutely perfect drainage or under the eve of a house where you can keep the rain off.
