Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Now reclassified as Demodium perplexum, which is a very good name. Perplexed is generally how I feel when confronted with constant reclassifications. Native to much of the Eastern US, this is a large plant, 3 to 5 feet tall, attractive rugose very dark green foliage. Small, pinky-purple pea flowers in large panicles up that can reach two feet in length bloom in late summer.
