Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This mound of lacy filigree grey-green foliage produces clusters of tiny white ?snap-dragons? over a long summer period; ?charming when hanging from a cool north-facing wall with blue Meconopsis and Gentiana? (G.S. Thomas). PSh/M
A useful little Corydalis smothered in creamy white tubular flowers with yellow at the centre for a long period from spring into summer. Beautiful filligree foliage in a rounded mound. May be short lived but reappears in the spring from self sown seedlings that are easily controlled.
Native to rocky woods and naturalized on old walls in Europe, this is one of the most beautiful foil plants for a shady garden. The lacy bluish green foliage and creamy white flowers with green lips and yellow throats add a delicate touch to crevices or walls. For more brightness, we combine this almost year-round bloomer with Campanula 'Blue Waterfall' and Brunnera 'Silver Wings'.
The real thing, note the non-shiny seed (white forms of lutea have shiny seed), an easy long flowering species, like a cream flowered lutea. It occupies a place of prominence in the shade garden alongside the steps to the lower parking lot, Martin King and 'Galen Gates from Chicago Botanic Garden saw it and at their urging we added it to our offerings for 2005. ZONE 4
A most impressive little plant (to 12") blooming non-stop summer through fall, with white blooms tinted light yellow. It is happy in any poor, well-drained soil and where it is happy it self-sows generously.
