Nursery contributed plant descriptions

From cliffs and alpine meadows of the Alps, this charming perennial is sometimes called the less flattering moniker of 'kidney vetch'. The pretty foliage forms a beautifully silky, dense, gray-green mat 6" tall and up to 2' wide. Clover-like heads of bright-red tubular flowers are held above the foliage in late spring and early summer. This is a wonderful addition to the rock garden and a recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit. S/M-D/GDr
These are exceptionally nice, dense tufts of silky gray leaves and dark red flowers in short spikes, it could easily be mistaken for a choice Astragalus.. ZONE 5
