Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Unlike most alliums which crave heat and sun, this one is happy in the shade and, even better, can handle DRY shade. Forms a grass-like clump of lush green foliage (always a useful look in the shade garden, contrasting perfectly with wide leaved hostas). In late spring/early summer, sends up about one foot, gently arching stems with small, noddling umbels of pure white flowers. Utterly graceful and elegant. Zone 4
