Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Eye-catching and unusual, 'Shannopin' was bred by T. Lloyd Pillow, superintendent of Pittsburgh's Street and Sewer Department, and named for the Delaware chief whose village once stood where Pittsburgh does today. On impressivley tall, strong stems, its primrose-to-cream standards over rosy, almost pink falls make it an iris that visitors here always notice and admire.
