Awesome East Coast native deciduous shrub with 3"-6" long drooping finger-like racemes of fragrant white flowers in early summer. The fall color is a brilliant red and crimson critical here in WA where our fall color is well, green. Suckering clump in wet or dryish - clay ok.
A moderate size shrub that does well in moist soils. The foliage is narrow (½” x 3”) and rich purple during the summer. Although deciduous this plant doesn’t loose its leaves until January in Oregon.
