    Acmispon glaber is a broadleaf deciduous perennial shrub with green foliage. In spring and summer yellow flowers emerge. Attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and occasional - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in summer. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in acidic, alkaline, average, clay, gritty, lean, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant, seaside / salt tolerant and wind tolerant.

From spring through summer this plant is covered in small yellow flowers. Deerweed can be very useful in restoration or in a garden situation. You can use it to help establish your new garden. Deerweed is very drought tolerant. From Humbolt and Plumas counties to Lower California Valuable to wildlife, providing food for hummingbirds, bees, butterfly larvae and deer. Deerweed is a pioneer species in nature adding nitrogen to the soil. No known historical uses. Found in found on dry slopes and fans. Communitites located in Chaparral, Coastal Sage Scrub, Coastal Strand, Joshua Tree Woodland Between 0 and 5000 feet.
