Jaumea is a low perennial with fleshy leaves that grows to approximately 6" and spreads by rhizomes. Small, yellow, daisy-like flowers in summer give a bright, cheery show. Jaumea grows in coastal salt marshes and tolerates brackish water and alkaline soil. Jaumea grows in coastal salt marshes and likes full sun, and seaside conditions. It survives in poor draining alkaline soil, salty conditions, and seasonal flooding. Flowers May - October Native to CA, but found North to BC (confined to Western NA) Good habitat plant. No Historical Uses found. Found in coastal, salt-marsh. Communitites located in Coastal Strand, Coastal Salt Marsh, Wetland-riparian, tidal flats, coastal strand, bases of sea cliffs Between 0 and 16 feet.
