The almost round, shallowly-lobed leaves of this shrub/tree are colored an amazing burnt-orange giving this attractive tree its name (colors best in full sun; yellow in shade); stunning fall colors of orange and red. S-PSh/M
Available mid April. This is one of the most commented upon plants in our garden, with its beautiful amber gold foliage all spring summer and fall. Grows to 8-10' tall ultimately, and perhaps 6-8' wide. Loves a spot with morning sun, afternoon shade. Shipping 1 gallon plants
Selected by J. D. Vertrees in the 1970s this lovely cultivar is in the same genus as the Golden Full Moon Maple [Acer shirasawanum Aureum]. A small to medium sized tree with wonderful color throughout the growing season. The leaves are reticulated and show some variegation on individual leaves from light green to gold, bronze and orange. Summer colors are green, gold and orange changing in the fall to a darker gold and orange and then ending in fiery crimson. Recommended sun exposure is in the morning with some shade protection in the hot afternoon sun. Fall colors mirror the spring and summer, but the leaves are darker in color from gold to crimson. Not a fast growing maple, but definitely faster than its cousin ‘Aureum’. Estimated height in 10 years is 7′. Once established hardy to USDA zone 5. Either Autumn Moon or Moonrise is a must for a Japanese Maple collector.

Deciduous, small tree with a pleasing foliage color combination of burnt-orange and green. These colors will show up best if planted in more sun. If planted in the shade, leaves will have a yellow-green tone. Fall time brings a lovely orange to red color on the foliage. (A-ser shir-ah-sa-WAN-um)
Pale yellow-green spring leaves emerge with soft orange tones which last throughout the season. Oranges, yellows, and even reds intensify as the season begins to close. Slow-growing, upright, 6' tall x 3' wide in 10 years. Protect from hot afternoon sun. Minimum temperature: -20?F

Wow! Incredible leaves. Terrific form. Plant where sunlight can fully develop the gold/burnt orange hues. Tolerates heat well. A winner in every way!
This Japanese Maple variety is one of my personal favorites! It always seems to take center stage. The foliage has a most unusual burnt orange color, which highlights the peach-yellow leaves. Pictures just never really capture the full beauty of this tree. Autumn will bring another color explosion of orange-red. Very unique!
Acer shirasawanum 'Autumn Moon' - Heat tolerant Japanese Maple Tree with ever changing foliage colors. Greens, reds, orange, and gold all come through depending on the season.
Orange leaves with an undercolor of green in sun, more yellow-orange in shade. Fall orange-red. Zones 5-8.
This is the new black in garden styles. Better than 'Aureum' as it can take some sun, it also has some pink and orange in the leaves. Whew! Hard to beat! Zone 5.
Similar to A. shir. 'Aureum' but this small tree has handsome pinkish accents on the new foliage. The accents seem to hold most of the summer and turn a beautiful gold in the fall.
