Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A South American species that multiplies quickly, forming dense clumps of grass-like, yellowy green, strappy leaves, emerging from shallow bulbs and bearing in spring and autumn, small, bright yellow, crocus-like flowers. Essentially evergreen. A great for filler for potted shrubs or trees, naturalising in turf or as a showy alternative to, or mixed with, Ophiopogon planted between pavers. Easily grown in any soil with at least some summer moisture, extended periods of neglect are survived though not enjoyed. Very tolerant of clay and wet feet.
