Nursery contributed plant descriptions

An attractive annual, occasionally longer lived, that self-seeds nicely in bare patches of soil, paving cracks etc. White five petalled, purple stamened flowers, with pink backs, are held on tall slender stems that rise above the ground hugging rosettes of leaves, where they appear to hover insubstantialy, almost like butterflies.Extremely hardy and tolerant of most soil types and conditions, from wet clay through to dry sand, in sun or shade, but performs best in a well drained alkaline soil and a sunny position.Great for making a garden feel uncontrived. This has always been one of our best selling plants.
