A fiery little Californian perennial to liven up the shade garden. Attractive domes of divided, leathery, red tinted leaves, produce elegant stems of bright scarlet flowers, shaped like a garden gnome's cap, for a long period from Spring into Summer. Summer dormant and then prefers dry conditions. Relatively short lived, expect three years or so, hope it self seeds in well drained soil or collect and sow in Winter. I doubt I could ever over plant this charmer, showy, elegant, beautiful foliage and tolerant of Summer drought, what more could you ask for.
