Nursery contributed plant descriptions

One of the best of the species for the home garden, this is nicely hardy here and always blooms. While the pale lavender flowers are small - think of the increasingly rare 50 cent piece for comparison - they are held to good effect on long stems to 3' tall and perfectly displayed over precision cut foliage. This is what we think of as a finely honed dahlia with all parts working together in effortless harmony. This is the kind of thing that so often eludes fine design but when it is captured, you know it at a cellular level. This species is a parent of the very classy Dahlia 'Ethereal' which is much admired here and which is in the pipeline!
