perennial
Asclepias purpurascens is a broadleaf deciduous perennial with blue and green foliage. In summer burgundy and purple flowers emerge. Attracts bees, beneficial insects and butterflies making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and regular - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Does well in average, gritty, lean, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and humidity tolerant.
