The gray evergreen foliage of this durable native perennial contrasts nicely in the garden. Louisiana Artemesia, sometimes called Dusty Miller, creates a mass of silvery-gray foliage and stems that spreads fairly quickly and develops into large colonies. Drought tolerant, deer and pest resistant, and a good larger groundcover.

An herbaceous, spreading perennial. Tall (1.5m), slender, erect silver stems are produced from an underground spreading rootstock and are sparsely clothed with silver-white, divided leaves. Panicles of insignificant flowers are borne in summer and autumn. Cut old stems back to ground level after flowering to allow the new growth to come through.
