Nursery contributed plant descriptions

From June to Sept, these large pink, red-eyed flowers add a tropical touch to your far-from-tropical garden; an upright, 8-10' high shrub, this is a triploid hybrid of an old-fashioned favorite. S/M
Rose of Sharon is a wonderful reblooming shrub that is quick to establish and flowers profusely through the entire summer. They bloom on new wood so they will flower even after heavy pruning the winter before and so plants can be kept as small as 3' tall, pruned into a small tree form, or left as a multi-stem shrub. The leaves are dark green and slightly serrated like most members of the Mallow family.

'Aphrodite' produces slightly ruffled flowers featuring pink petals and a deep red eye. It has a more compact form than many other varieties and so requires less pruning, the flowers are also sterile so it won't reseed around the garden.
