Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Keeping the same juvenile foliage as its parent 'Chabo yadori' this green conifer has strong flecks of creamy yellow throughout. Older plants grow higher than wide.
'Saffron Spray' is a beautiful variegated cypress with saffron-yellow splashes throughout medium green foliage. Most references report 2'x2' in 10 years, but I think that's overly pessimistic. My original plant was purchased in 2010 and has grown a foot in 3 years and is now 3' tall. These guys are 3rd year cuttings and fairly small - maybe 4-6" in height. I find all Chamaecyparis need some winter protection for the first 2-3 years or they can winter burn badly. I wrap larger ones in burlap, these little guys could be covered with a loose mulch of evergreen boughs or straw.
An excellent sport of 'Chabo-Yaderi' with feathery green juvenile foliage and splashes of bright golden yellow adult foliage neatly interspersed creating a lovely two tone effect.
