O jishi or "male lion" is a smaller and more compact version of the popular 'Shishigashira'. The leaves are bright green and held very close on the branch. The fall color is intense bright gold. Forms a multi-branched little shrub or small tree to around 6' tall. Very slow growing. Dwarf Group.
The smaller cousin to 'Shishigashira' with bright green, crinkly leaves. Green summer leaves turn a bright gold in fall. Multi-branched, with leaves tightly bunched on the stems. The name translates to "Male Lion".
