Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This exceptionally cold hardy species is native to the cold boreal climate and moist soils of the mountains from China to western Siberia. It is one of the cold hardiest trees in the world. Slow-growing, eventually reaching to 80-100' and covered with attractive light-green needles which are soft and aromatic. The bark is smooth, greyish-green and has the resin blisters characteristic of firs trees. This is a grand specimen for cold climates! S/M
