Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Philodendron Melanochrysum X Verricosum is a hybrid that was done by Keith Henderson. It involves two of what I believe to be some of the most beautiful Philodendrons in the whole groups. Philo Melanochrysum is a beautiful species with long dark velvet leaves and white veins while Verricosum also has some of the best velvet leaves of any plant it also has fuzzy petioles and dark maroon undersides. The cross between them both produces an easy to grow breathtaking velvet leaf plant that is unlike anything else. The leaves can grow to over 2 feet long and 1 foot wide or more. The top of the leaf is very dark green velvet with light colored veins. The underside of the leaf can have some slight dark coloring on the new foliage. The petioles are slightly rough and green. Both species are great but they can be a bit difficult to grow at times. This cross makes it easy for anyone to grow an amazing velvety plant.
