Philodendron "Sucre's Slim" is a great new Philodendron. I received my plant years ago from a good friend. He said he got the plant from Dimitri Sucre in Rio in 1989 as Philodendron "Sucre's Slim". Apparently a few botanist have looked at the plant as a possible new species but no verdict yet on if it is. The foliage is very narrow and spear shaped usually 1 to 4 inches long and half and inch wide. The petioles are usually 2 to 6 inches long and as it matures the base can form a vine or what sometimes look like small trunks. I have found this plant great for terrariums and would suggest it for anyone with a medium to larger terrarium vivarium setup. It can also be grown as a house plant or a tropical landscape plant maybe even a ground cover in more tropical climates.
